I learned in law class that you get one free credit report a year. They recommend this site.

Just dont fall for buying all their “monitoring” or “credit score” stuff, and you get the basic report for free.

The only way you can get a full credit report for free is to ask for it in writing (pen and paper, not Internet.) You must send an individual letter to each of the three major credit reporting agencies.
All these other internet web sites that advertise a “Free Credit Report” are really selling you a monthly subscription to their individual credit reporting agency.
