free 3 credit reports – score

get information on credit bureaus

How to I order an “individual” credit report from each bureau, not the 3-in-1. Need to dispute but can’t.

kakk333 asked:

Hello, I ordered a “3-in-1″ credit report from transunion.. well it ends up I cannot dispute claims through equifax and experian unless I have an official credit report # from them.. which transunion does not give you when you order the “3-in-1″ report. So now I have to order a “3-in-1″ report from each company just to open a dispute, that would be $90 total! Isn’t there a way to just order an individual report from each company for $9.95.. i thought there was? I’ve already used up my “free” report from annualcreditreport.com. Is this some kind of big scam to get more money? Need help, Thanks!

You are entitled to one free credit report per year through each of the credit reporting agencies.

Find their mailing addresses and send them each a letter requesting your free report.

You may be able to do it online, but if so, it should be free or have a small “handling” fee.

    Good luck!

You DO NOT have to order a 3-1 report from each agency. You may not even have to order any more reports.

Verify that the report number is not included on the 3-1 in some section. Since they pulled your report from Equifax and Experian they were given a report number, and should be listing it. If it is not on there you should still be able to dispute the information. But you have to do it through certified mail.

When you send them the dispute, just include the date of the report, the account in dispute, and the dispute reason. At this same time you can attach copies of any documents you need to prove your dispute.

However, if you want to purchase just a single report here are the links

The best thing you should do is to write a letter to all seperate creditors saying that you have been denied credit within the last 30-60 days and you want a free copy of your report( they are supposed to give you one if you have been denied anything) I don’t think doing this has anything to do with your free reports the annual report .com. I have got many reports each year. Anyway get al three addressess and type up something saying you want the free copy because U been denied credit and put your address and social at the bottom on the letter and sign it. They should send it to you within 2 weeks. Its easier to dispute those reports from the official companies because they are more accurate and clear to read because it by the individual credit report companies and not all confusing and jumbled up like the 3 and one reports, I hate how those look. This will only cost you a little time and a few stamps. Buy the way if it just so happens that they say no you already had a report, then call them and ask how much does one costs then( I think $12-14 bucks). hope this helps……….

Did you print off the free reports from AnnualCreditReport.com? If you did, you shouldn’t have any problem finding the report #. However, If it doesn’t have the # on it after you printed it, you should find it on the site and write it on the report before you close out.
AnnualCreditReport gives you a free report from each of the credit bureaus (Experian, Equifax and TransUnion), once every 12 months. They do not have a 3-in-1 report.
There’s no scam, per se, you just have to know what your options are and use them wisely.
