They will show anything that is still being reported by your creditors, not just for the last 7 years. If you have a 20-year credit history, that's what your reports will show.

They show whatever has been reported to them. Just because a debt doesn't show up doesn't mean you don't owe it.

Some items stay for 10 years like bankruptcy. Also, you can owe someone and they don't report it to the agencies or only report to one agency. You have to review all three: Equifax, Experian and Transunion.

Joshua

You are allowed a free copy of your credit report once a year!! If you have already used that the best way is to use one agency who lets you see all 3 credit monitoring angencies!! I suggest freecreditreport.com. Its about $13 a month, but you can also try it free for 30 days!!

Robin

I also pulled reports via annualcreditreport.com from all three bureaus. Unfortunately, it seems TransUnion is actually requiring you to submit your credit card number and sign up for their "30 day risk free trail" before they allow you to access your report online. (I even checked directly on the site with my old member login). I personally don't think that is fair, but unsure if they have gotten enough complaints on the matter. While most people may be ok with giving a card number and immediately canceling, i was under the impression the three bureaus were supposed to give that information freely once per year. Until they change that method, i'm sticking with the two i got so far. (or likely have to mail request one from TransUnion)

Alan

Once each year you can get your credit report free from.

There is an extra charge of about $6 to also get your credit score.

If you have applied for credit and been turned down, you should receive a letter in the mail that will describe how to get a credit report from the agency that provided information to the lender. The lender MAY give you a copy of the report if you ask.

Also, if you challenge any information in your credit report and it is changed or removed you will receive an updated copy.

There are other websites that require you to sign up for a monitoring service and provide your credit report and scores. Generally they are free for 30 days, then charge $10-20 per month. You can use that to get the free initial reports and scores. If you don't want the monitoring, MAKE SURE you cancel in time

Roy

TransUnion can be a tough one to pull your credit report as they do ask alot of security questions to release your report. I worked there 8 years ago, so, they just want to verify it's you...You may have given them all the information you think is correct, though someone may have reported something different than what you know, this is why they are requesting it by phone or by mail. Calling them will not take long. I put a freeze on mine last year as I had someone reporting erroneous information on mine, I called them this year and had them un freeze, and it took maybe 10 minutes to process, they will ask you the security questions and if you don't know one of them, insist you have no idea what they are talking about, and they should be able to release the report to you online like you processed on annualcreditreport.com...Once I called them, I had my credit report and able to print it out in no time....Good Luck!!
